In this class, we will learn how to correctly

use the components that we have created during the last classes.

Because a sketchup usually is not to create parametric models,

it's necessary to modify models to make the components fit on it.

Here, we will use the different view styles and a tape measure tool.

Let's get started. Once we press the W2 window in the model.

The walls, in this model are two sided.

If you want to put a window,

sketcher can only automatically cuts open a sidewalk for us.

So we have to make a hole by ourselves.

Then press the window in this open space.

We select X-ray, in the toolbar and double

click the wall to enter wall groups and edit the wall.

Here we use tape measure tool to draw a guideline from the bottom.

We input 90 cm,

which is the standard height of the window.

Because we selected the X-ray facestyle,

we still can't see the window's position from a front print.

So, we draw a vertical guideline on the left side of the window.

These two guidelines will create an intersection point.

From this point we draw a 160x140 rectangle on the wall.

Then we push the a rectangle for 15 cm.

Now we can see a hole on the wall now.

Last, we select a W2 component.

And then locate to the bottom left corner of the hall.

And now we have finished placing the W2 window.

In this class, we learn the procedure that we need to

do when we want to use components such as window,

in sketch or a model.

This procedure is necessary,

because the walls in sketchups are not made of solid.

Instead, they are made of six surfaces.
