And if all goes well,
once you log in, you'll be able to see this course,
which is Introduction to Data on the Google Cloud Platform from Data to Insights.
And this is the first lecture that we're actually going to be going over.
So what I want you to do first is click on the Labs,
and here are the labs that are running.
Click on the course, select the course,
and this is where you are going to be spending all of your time,
which is on all of these 11 labs that we're doing throughout this entire specialization.
So once you've gotten to this screen,
you're pretty much halfway done because this is where you have the instructions,
but you still don't have access to the Google Cloud platform yet until
you click on Connect or before that,
there is a button here that says Start lab.
Click on Start lab,
and also as an FYI,
if you end the lab, it kills
the entire instance including any of your queries that you've written.
So, do not click that red button until you're completely done with the course.
In here are your credentials.
I will go ahead and copy my username.
Yours, of course, is going to be different.
And in our incognito window,
you're going to be signing in.
Let's sign in with our Google account.
Here, again, it's going to be the Qwiklabs account.
So this is a critical point.
Right. So, you're not signing in with your own personal Gmail or anything like that,
you're actually signing in with your Qwiklabs account,
and that's so you guys don't get billed for the resources that you use.
So, first, big chip up here is a lot of folks tend to put
in their personal Google account emails.
Make sure you're using that Qwiklabs account,
accept the terms of service read through them.
And once you've gotten to this point,
accept the terms of service to use Google Cloud Platform,
then much like you saw on the slides open earlier today, you're golden.
So, you can sift through the different products that are available to you.
Right now, it's just one with a really long alphanumeric string.
If you have that, you're set.
So, what I would ask you to do from here is,
take a look at the dashboard.
Again, this is your project information.
You have a compute instance in already a cloud packet storage created.
That's interesting. And we'll go over creating packets a bit later.
But what I ask you do is,
the products and services menu.
Go ahead and open and close that.
Make sure you have access to it.
All the way at the bottom are going to be all of the big data tools,
if you wish wouldn't be going over as part of the specialization.
Namely BigQuery.
So, as a last and final check,
go ahead and open up BigQuery.
I did not memorize this password.
And once you get to BigQuery if you get to this screen that's phenomenal.
What I'll ask you to do now even in advance of the BigQuery demo is,
if you can compose a query.
And the first thing that I want you to do
even if you don't know any sequel, just type in select.
And then just type in your name and put it in quotes just single quotes right here.
This is a string.
For those who aren't familiar and going to click on Run Query.
If you've never used BigQuery before,
this is your first query.
So, you've now returned.
This is your hello word of your new account.
Once you have that, you're set.
We'll go over every other part of this interface in the next lab.
So you've gotten to this point,
you've set up your Qwiklab's account which is phenomenal.
You've copied down your username and password,
which will allow you access to this temporary.
I can't stress it enough, it is temporary.
You'll have it around for about just enough time to complete the course.
So, if there's any queries that you want to save
or bring over from this temporary account,
again, this is your project at the right here.
You need to actually shift those out of your temporary sandbox account,
into a free trial account,
or another Google Cloud Platform account that you have.
So, be sure don't lose those queries by prematurely ending the entire lab.
And before the end of
this specialization we'll remind you again to copy over your queries.
So, you've gotten that far, you've got your Qwiklabs account,
you've opened up BigQuery and
this is where we're going to be doing the majority of our work,
and writing all these fun analysis queries.
So congratulations.
We're going to go ahead and move on to the next section.
