Hello, in this video, I will show you examples lies for deliverable seven for all three tracks. Each track will complete a why statement. I'll also walk you through the feedback process, so you can help your peers improve their work for the final Capstone portfolio. Let's start with an example. All of the tracks complete deliverable seven. Here is the example for Wanda's Boutique and Spa. What's your opinion? Let me go over my review, first the rubric. Did the learner write a concise statement that described why his or her business exists? Yes, they did. The next couple of questions asks, whether the statement describes the why from different perspectives, such as the customer, the employee, the community and whatever perspectives that I see. Yes, I see the perspective of the business and the customer. The community is less obvious, but the use of we implies community. The next question asks, what are the why statement was inspiring? Because a good why statement should have an inspiring effect. This is of course opinion, but let's take a look. What's your opinion? My opinion was somewhat inspiring. I like the idea of renewable resources as a way to show the generational element. I like how we showed community and the word cultivate expresses nurturing, perhaps in a mother to daughter way. As far as improving the statement, I wonder whether adding the word natural in front of beauty might emphasize the natural products that are used, as well as highlight the natural beauty in everyone. In other words, will this wise statement still be relevant 10, 20, or 50 years from now? Does it have a timeless quality? What do you think? I think the statement does this particularly well and is very likely to withstand the test of time. Perhaps it's the timeless quality of Wanda's Boutique that already sells this well, but this statement communicates that very nicely I think. One final comment I have here for the learner, is why did they use the future tense here? The future can indicate forward movement, in other words, you will continue to cultivate, but it can also send a message that until now you haven't cultivated it but you will starting now. So it can have a couple of different meanings. On the other hand, if you use present tense, cultivate would imply habit. In other words, you have always cultivated it and you will always continue to cultivate it. Both are acceptable, but they have slightly different meanings. If you'd like to see what I wrote for my feedback for deliverable seven, you can find it in the deliverable seven peer review for any of the tracks. And there you have it, an example of what you can do for the why statement and a model of the kind of feedback you can give to others. Good luck and remember helpful feedback is priceless.
