[MUSIC]. So, I was going to wrap up the course during the last five minutes under review. But I really inspired me to do something completely different that I was not actually planning on doing. And this is something that you said, and really resonated with me, that we all make mistakes, we all screw up. So, I am going to confess that I practiced introducing you right before the lecture last night, I went on all the I watched all your interviews and I thought I was going to do such a good job introducing you and guess what? In a 45 seconds, right, it took me 45 seconds to introduce you, I made four mistakes. So, I would like to take these last few minutes of the class, to tell you that it's okay to make mistakes and it's okay to change your field of studies and it's okay to do something and say two years later that you know what, this is not for me. So, I you don't know this about me, but I also wanted to be a basketball player. I didn't know about NBA the country I lived and I had no idea what NBA was, but I was in my basketball team in school and I thought I was pretty good. So we moved to another country and I auditioned to join a basketball team in a club and I didn't get into anything. Three different clubs, not none of them took me, so I decided that maybe basketball was not my thing and just like you, I stopped growing. So that was another factor, but it's okay to change, so I am not going to stand here right now and review the course video because you have the slides. I have uploaded every single slide that we have presented in this class, you have them. But I'm going to stand here and tell you something that would hopefully alleviate and help with the stress that I can see every single Wednesday in this class on your faces regardless of your majors. Because you're worried about the future, you're worried about the financial aid, you're worried about the loans that you need to pay back. You don't know what you want to do after you see I, what if you don't get into this graduate school. But if you have to work for a couple of years to save up some money, so I just want to stand here and tell you that it is okay. It is okay to change and it is okay to make mistakes, but it's not okay to stay there and say that that's it. I have no hope I'm a loser, I'm not going to have a great life, I'm not going to achieve my goals, that is not okay. So I based on what you said, I'm completely [COUGH] changing what I was going to talk to you about. So it's ok to make the mistakes and we should all start dreaming like you mentioned. And I'm going to watch a very short video clip that you send me that talks about dreaming and start writing. We talked about journalists, some of the points that you brought up making a gratitude list, being tankful going into nature. We've already talked about some of those topics in the class. So my goal, this is something that I am standing here and honestly begging you, to really put into practice some of the things and some of the topics that you have learned in this class. In on college campuses, in the courses that you're required to take to major in Chemistry Biology, Social Sciences, you name it. We don't spend enough time teaching you how to take care of yourself. So I hope that this class gave you some tools and at least made you aware of some of the things very small steps that you can take to help yourself. Because let me tell you something if you're not healthy and if you don't focus on your mental and physical well being, nothing else matters. You had experience with your high school or you all talked about your high school classmates who you lost to suicide. I have lost two of my closest friends to suicide and two students. So mental health is a very, very personal issue for me and I know that you can flip, I know that the difference between being healthy and feeling great and the next day not being there is real. So I really, really want to stand here and beg you to put to practice some of the things that you have learned in class and you start with baby steps. It could be just one thing we talked about nature therapy today. This is a very good place to start when I get stressed out, when I really am stressed. And to the point that I see the physical symptoms of stress in me, Sometimes I just go to the park on campus, I go to all these park and I sit on a bench. So if you guys ever see me sitting on a pinch, don't don't come and talk to me. >> [LAUGH]. >> I'm trying to like do nature therapy, I'm kidding. And I'm going to end by saying that if anybody in this classroom is interested to join our mountain biking group on Saturdays, please let me know I have one extra bike that you're more than welcome to use but I'll be happy to make arrangements to have more bikes. You were very kind, I'm not really a very good mountain biker but I pretend I am. >> [LAUGH]. >> So you haven't seen me pushing my bike, so then when it's too steep I'm pushing my bike I'm not buying you see me on the top because you think I got there by myself but I did and I'm pushing my bike. >> [LAUGH]. >> So if anybody wants to join us on Saturday mornings we usually start at 9:30 please send me an email. I'll be happy to form hiking groups, I've done that before for our students and we can do that too. So thank you again for a wonderful quarter and I will miss you [APPLAUSE] starting next week, thank you.
