[MUSIC] [FOREIGN] plus the infinitive. The present perfect tense, [FOREIGN]. These are two ways to express recent past events in Spanish. One is lexical with [FOREIGN], plus an infinitive. Or, with the present perfect tense which is composed of the helping verb, [FOREIGN], and the past participle which you've all ready seen. Either [FOREIGN] or [FOREIGN] depending if it's an ar, or an ir verb. But now in the present perfect tense, the form is fixed and doesn't agree in number and gender. So let's first look at [FOREIGN] plus the infinitive. [FOREIGN], I just finished showering. [FOREIGN] We just ate. I don't want anything more. [FOREIGN] Silvia just had her first class. [FOREIGN] They just called. Now, to form the present perfect conjugate [FOREIGN] in the present tense, and remember the h is silent. And then add the past participle with the non-changing form of either -ado or -ido. Listen carefully, because with the reflexive pronouns, all the sounds seem to blend together. Listen for the first participle -ado, -ido, which tells you that the present perfect tense is in use. So here's the conjugation of the helping verb, [FOREIGN]. And let's look at some examples. [FOREIGN] I've showered with pineapple soap. Notice how everything runs together. [FOREIGN] Second example. [FOREIGN] Have you washed your hair today? Again, see how everything runs together. [FOREIGN] Third example, [FOREIGN]. My mother didn't sleep very well last night. [FOREIGN] We've gone to bed very late last night. [FOREIGN] The guys have gotten tired out with the routine of work.
