[MUSIC] Hello and welcome to our final content based teach English now course, technology enriched teaching. >> For those of you who are first time visitors or learners to our courses. We're delighted to have you. You should know that we often do things a little differently around here so be prepared to take notes, listen to the videos several times, and put on your critical thinking caps. >> We are so excited about this course. Both Justin and I earned our PhD's in educational technology. So the topic of this course, effectively integrating technology into education, is our specialty and a topic we both, well, love. We have seen, time and time again, situations where teachers are frustrated when trying to include technology into their teaching. And how it often seems that technology and the curriculum conflict with each other. We both science fiction just a little bit and so we immediately thought of the Matrix movies series in the battle between humans and technology. Using the Matrix as a theme for this course has made things especially fun. >> [LAUGH] It sure has Shane. We have had so much fun creating this course. From watching the Matrix together as a team. Jotting down notes and quotes and then after, brainstorming. To integrating the educational research with our creative ideas to actually filming and producing the upcoming videos which you'll soon be watching. In both our matrix themed videos as well as our instructional videos. We'll discuss why teacher sometimes avoid using technology and how technology can be used to enhance lesson planning, engage students, transform the classroom, and focus on your own teacher training. >> By the end of this course, we hope that you will have some ideas about how to properly integrate technology in your current or future teaching environments. During this course, we will be asking you to complete one more lesson plan on any topic and incorporate technology into your lesson using the principles we discussed in this course. We'll also ask you to make a six to ten minute teaching video at the end of the course. That should be no surprise by now. >> No surprises here. So on that note we'll leave you to it. Grab your pens or pencils and notebook and your trusty thinking cap. >> And we will be grabbing our dark, mysterious sun glasses. >> As we prepare to enter the matrix. Or the technology enriched teaching course. >> Here we go. [MUSIC]
