Right after the elections I went into the Legal Services Center and I tried to get,
you know, all my ducks in a row,
like a legal name change.
I am feeling some pressure to try and get, you know,
everything done as soon as possible because I don't know what it's going to look like in
the next 10 years in the country in terms of my trans rights and access to health care.
It's very stressful.
Seeing things like the fights over the bathroom though,
was just really disheartening and honestly like,
the thing I am most afraid about is the repeal
of Obamacare and like not having a good health care system in place to replace that.
Because I know that Donald Trump and his campaign promises,
this list of the things he was going to do,
he was talking about replacing health care
with health savings accounts which aren't insurance at all,
and that just boggles my mind like,
some health savings accounts assume that you have the money to
pay for all your medical bills up front already,
so I mean for me that's going to make it a lot harder for me to get insurance.
I'm 100 percent certain.
I'm reaching the age where I can no longer use my mother's insurance and I'm a person.
I'm a person who has a lot of medical expenses that need to be taken care of.
So, yeah, I'm concerned about the impact that it'll have on like workplace insurance too,
like if I'll still be able to get
good insurance through whatever job that I end up taking after school.
