Welcome back. This is our second usability lab video on the Saint Paul recycling task. And in this case, we have Nikki here who is going to go through very much the same task. And we're going to see how it differs when we have somebody else running through that task. And in this one we're not going to do the commentary. We're going to leave this one pretty quiet for you to observe, and then we'll come back and give you our observations when it's all done. So Nicki, welcome to the lab. Thank you for being here. >> Yeah. >> And I'm going to give you this task. I'm actually going to ask you to read aloud just to get you into the mode of thinking aloud. And then, when you're comfortable we'll just have you start and I'll leave you to do the task. >> Okay. So you've just moved into Saint Paul into a house at 1018 Randolph Avenue between Lexington Parkway and Chatsworth Street. Congratulations! You've seen recycling bins around so you assume the city picks it up. We'd like to find out whether you should put it out and whether you have to pay for the service. Starting at www.stpaul.gov, find your recycling schedule and fees if any. >> Any questions before we start? >> No, that makes sense. >> Great. Take it away. >> Okay, so I'm on the stpaul.gov site. So I see a search bar in the middle. So I'm just going to search for recycling. And I see there's a few options that come up under the results. And none of these look like there about the You Pick Up. So, maybe I'll change my search to recycling pickup. I'm just going to click on the first one here to see what this says. It looks like it's a company that does recycling and there's some contact information. I'm not seeing anything about the prices. So I'm going to go back I'll go to the recycling information. And right here, I see the Residential Curbside Program. The material should be set out at the curb no later than 7am on your collection day. So that's good to know. I can see how to get a recycling bin here, so I have to contact my district council and the city provides up to two free blue bins. Okay, so that's good to know. I'm still looking about pricing. There's what they collect. I'm not seeing this. So maybe additional recycling resources No. Okay, I'm going to go back one more and see if I see anything else. I'll search maybe recycling prices. I guess I'm not seeing the prices anywhere. I think I already clicked on this top one here. So maybe at this point I would contact the district councils Yeah, I guess maybe I would call to ask about the pricing. Okay, let's see what I else. If I can find anything. Yeah, I don't know what I would do from here though. >> [NOISE] Thank you so much for your hard work with this task. So, how was that experience like for you? >> I thought it was kind of frustrating because I thought it would be easier to find the questions that I wanted answered. Maybe a frequently asked questions, or I don't know. I guess there was more links on here than I wanted. >> Would you have any feedback for the site's creators about how to make this easier for you? >> Well, it seems like fees and schedules would be like something that most people would want to know, so I guess having that being, to be like more easily accessible for the user. Yeah, that got, that's my only feedback. >> And I noticed that you went to search is the first thing you did on the website? >> Yes. >> So, can you talk a little bit more about that? About why you did that? >> I think because the search bar was right in the middle of the screen, it seemed like that's what it wanted me to do, if I was looking for something specific. >> So the way the website was designed is basically [INAUDIBLE] >> Yeah. >> All right, well thank you very much. Do you have any other feedback about this task? >> No, not right now. >> Thank you.
