In this video we are going to do a brief demonstration of some exploratory user testing. I'm going to use this script that I put together for HVAC in a Hurry and this interactive mock up that I created also for HVAC in a Hurry. I'm Alex, and this is Dave who's normally our camera operator. But he's going to do his best to act like an HVAC technician and I'm going to do my best to act like a user tester through the video. The one part I'm going to skip here is Dave signing the appropriate release which he actually already did. So Dave, thanks for coming in. >> Sure. >> Being a part of our study. >> No problem. >> My name's Alex and we're here to, I'm going to use this guide to take me through the rest of this. So I hope you won't mind me referring to that. >> No, that's fine. >> And we're here to learn about how field techs like you interact with this application. Whose job is to look up pricing and availability info on parts for you all. >> Okay. >> So we're not here to test you, we're here to test the application. So whatever you do with this thing is fine. >> Okay, so it's not a reflection on my job performance? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> I think this will take five to ten minutes. And do you have any questions? Other questions before we get started? >> No, it's pretty clear. >> Okay, sure. >> Alright so, I'm just going to start the recording here, just so our colleagues can refer to this and look at the results of the [INAUDIBLE] >> Yeah. >> And if you'll take the application here that's on the iPad, what do you think you're seeing here? Looks like a home screen where I would look up parts. Actually, looks a lot like when I'm looking for spare parts for my car. >> And now, let's say you had this part here. >> Yep. >> And you can see the part number, and you want to look it up on this application. >> Okay. >> Can you show me where you can do that? Yeah, looks like right here, that field that says Enter Part #. >> Okay, great, and can you show me how you would write down the part number in this reproduction of the screen here? >> Yeah, so I'm going to find the Enter Part #, it is 000-92-1. Great, okay, thank you. And, all right, let's take another example, different part. >> Okay. >> Let's say you're out in the field, you're looking for this part that was in this model here. >> Okay. >> You want to find its part number. And you want to look up its pricing and availability. Can you show me how you would do that from what you can see here? >> Sure, so I go back to this home screen. I'm going to look up the make which is Carrier and then model would be Healy and then the part type, it's a side fan. So once I've got those filled in it looks like then I would click Search, correct? >> What do you think? >> That would be my guess. >> Okay. >> And there it is, yeah. So, I was right. >> And can you tell me what is the availability and pricing of the part? >> Well, it's actually the one on the top, 8675309. It looks like it's available within 5 days and it's $55.12. So, I'm guessing that's a cost and not a retail price. And what would you tell a customer at this point? >> At this point I'm going to let the customer know how much lead time we need. Looks like it's not going to be available within the next two days because of the shipping time. So we're going to have to put something in that'll carry him over. But then we'll also need to schedule a follow up appointment when we can install this and then give him a price estimate for cost, parts, and labor. Gotcha, now can you show me how you get back to the initial search screen from here. >> Yeah, yeah, looks like a just click Home. >> Okay, and- >> And there it is. >> And let's say you have this part that you see here. >> Okay. >> And you don't know what it is. You just want to take a photo of it and get some help from dispatch. Can you show me how you do that? >> Well, then I'll- >> And let's say, sorry, let's say it's a high urgency request. And you can, you know that the item is a Fujitsu. >> Okay, yeah, so then the bottom half of the screen says, Get Help with An ID. So I will choose the urgency, which is High, and the make will be Fujitsu. And at that point, that's all I know all about this. It seems so then I'm going to have to post a photo. Since I don't have one, I'll take one I guess. Yeah, so there we go, Take Photo. And this looks like, there we go, Use Photo, and Submit. There you go. >> And what do you think is going to happen now? >> So it looks like I'll get an email shortly with pricing and availability. >> Great, why, that's it. Dave, thanks so much for your help. We really appreciate it. >> Yeah, that's pretty easy. Actually, that's going to help a lot. >> Great, well, I'm glad you like it. All right, so we improvised there a little bit. I forgot to give Dave a little bit of direction that was in the script because remember, we're supplying motivation. So I need to tell him that the final request there with the Fujitsu is a high priority. Not have him decide that because he has no context for that. So, notice that I missed that, but that is a part of the script, and that's important. Otherwise, nice job Dave. Thanks a lot. >> Thanks, yeah.
