<p>David runs the Corporate Consultancy unit at The Careers Group, University of London, which provides coaching, training and bespoke services to organisations seeking to develop effective and motivated employees.</p> <p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>David studied Physics at Oxford and worked in scientific publishing for a number of years before joining The Careers Group as a Careers Consultant. As well as advising undergraduates, postgraduates and staff in a number of University of London Colleges, he has worked in the Consultancy unit for over 10 years, coaching a wide range of professionals contemplating career change, career development and other issues.</p> <p><strong>Areas of Expertise</strong><br></p> <p>At The Careers Group, David works with professional organisations, such as the British Medical Association, British Veterinary Association, Chartered Institute of Marketing and Prospect trade union to help them enhance their offering to members. This has involved researching, designing, promoting and delivering career and professional development services such as coaching, workshops, webinars and e-learning materials for specialised audiences.</p> <p>As well as being an experienced careers coach, David is an approved CMI leadership trainer through the University of London. With this combination of expertise, David provides consultancy to employers in the public and private sector on recruitment, talent management, leadership development, change management and redundancy support. Clients have included Fitch Ratings, University of East London and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.</p> <p>David is also involved in training and mentoring other careers professionals. He is a senior tutor on the Advanced Guidance Skills course run by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services and has provided bespoke consultancy to a number of Higher Education careers services including those at London School of Economics, Oxford University, Bristol University and Dublin Institute of Technology. He is a Fellow of the National Institute for Careers Education and Counselling and an Associate of the International Centre for Guidance Studies. He is the lead author of the blog&nbsp;<a href="">Careers - in Theory</a>&nbsp;which links the worlds of academic theory and research with professional practice in career development.</p>
